- My Prognosis is Psychosis... (A.M.Gimblett@cs.cf.ac.uk) broadcasted to the world:
-
- I have a copy of the Midi spec booklet for this machine. But no way to
- transmit it short of snail mail. The thought of having to manually type
- it out is out of the question!
- I have access to a cheap scanner at work (no OCR-Mac Platform). Any suggestions?
- There seems to be a growing interest for this machine and what it can
- *really* do and I'd like to make this available on the net. I thought
- about typing a bit here and there and putting it on my web page but that
- doesn't really seem to be too useful or practical or is it?
- After a couple of weeks I would have the text in tact. I also have a few
- text files explaining the architecture, parameters, values, etc. I'd be
- more than happy to send this via attached e-mail.
- I've had one request so far...yours makes two...If I get a few more, I
- might be moved to add an mt 32 page. I also have alot of sysex tones that
- I'd be willing to share. This would have to also be done by e-mail
-
- Drop me a line at ----->gregor@goldengate.net subject MT32!!!!!
-
- I'll see if I can't help you out!

- : Hi there...
-
- : To cut a long story short: Can anyone talk to me about Sys Ex messages
- : for the MT-32? I'm writing a patch editor.
-
- : Here's the long story:
-
- : I'm in the early stages of trying to write a patch editor for the
- : Roland MT-32 to run on an Amiga. This is partially as a learning
- : exercise in MIDI etc and partially as I'm not impressed by the
- : patch editors I've seen.
-
- : Obviously I need to know the message formats for getting one machine
- : to talk to the other... Perhaps I could ask Roland if they have a
- : book/pamphlet/cryptogram on the MT-32's SysEx, but I'd rather not,
- : mainly because the actualy MT-32 manual is a poorly-written,
- : uninformative joke.
-
- : And anyway, with the Internet so close at hand and yet so vast... I
- : figured someone out there might be able to help. So, if there's any
- : way you think you might be helpful/interested, I'd love to hear from
- : you. If I manage to crack the case and come up with the goods, I'll
- : almost certainly make it PD and try to get it on Aminet, which is
- : something to look forward to - fame, power, women!
-
- : Hmmm, maybe I'm getting carried away...
-
- : Well that's it basically - any takers?
-
- : Life, love, and lots of bananas,
- : Andy
